Discovering The Fruit Of The Spirit- Part 1

It’s not a myth that as Christian women, we struggle.

Sometimes a lot more than we wish. Nonetheless, we do.

However, in our daily walk with Christ, there are a few key things to keep in mind about struggling:

1.) Your status as a Christian is only what you understand Christianity to be.

If you have a thorough understanding of who God is, and what your relationship to Him is about, then you will have all the knowledge and wisdom you need to have a wonderful Christian life – despite your disappointments and setbacks.

Understanding your identity and your role in the Kingdom is majorly important. Before you begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit in your life, you absolutely need to know who you are.

Are you the Daughter of the King? Is Jesus your best friend? How do you perceive your relationship to Christ? Is He everything to you?

Know who you are, know who Christ is. Seeing Him as your Heavenly Father should help you to understand His great love for you. If you still cannot fathom this, ask God to release HIs understanding to you of HIs love for you.

Sometimes we might even have to ask HIm to help us “feel” His love.

Don’t worry- He is not offended by you asking this. He is more than willing to offer you the opportunity to bask in His love for you on an emotional level.

Although living for Christ is not always an emotional journey, neither is it just strictly logical. God makes room for our position as women, and allows us to “feel” His love in addition to “knowing” His love.

2.) Your status as a Christian is only what you make of it.

If you don’t move toward the basics of having a meaningful relationship with your Savior, it will never happen.

You will need to make up your mind to spend time with Him- through prayer and meditation of scripture. This will absolutely help you to grow spiritually and begin to bear those prescious Fruit of the Spirit.

If you feel that you can’t make it and you absolutely have no hope or faith, encourage yourself in the Lord. Get around people who can encourage you.

And if you still feel like all hope is gone, keep drawing closer to God. Never run away from your only source.

The key is, you just keep doing what’s right. Don’t give up. The Lord says to draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.

So you must initiate the intimacy.

God has already begun the great work. He has already died for your sins, shed His blood, and offered you eternal life with HIm.

Now He wants a relationship with you here on earth. But He needs for you to take the first step back toward HIm.

A Christian life is only what you make of it. Make it your best!

3.) Your emotional health as a Christian woman is only what you feed into your mind and spirit on a daily basis.

Sometimes our mind tells us “You’re tired, you’re sick”, or “you’re depressed”. Then that’s usually when you start to repeat that to yourself over and over again.

“I’m tired.”

“I’m sick.”

“I’m depressed.”

For every Christian women, this leads to one thing in particular: an open door for the enemy to harvest a spot just for himself in your mind, heart, and emotions.

Is this what you want?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

In order to bear the Fruit of the Spirit, you will need to watch what goes into your:

  • eyes
  • ears

and what comes out of your:

  • mouth (because what comes out of your mouth, goes back into your ears!!!)

So, the saying: hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil- rings true for the Christian woman.

Stay tuned for part 2...
